Can a dog be left alone for 8 hours?
For Adult dogs, Yes, it is generally, alright to leave your dogs for 8 – 9 hours, alone. Even in a Crate (dog kennel), 8 – 9 hours is usually alright. But for dogs under 2 years old, I would not advise leaving them in a crate longer than 6 hours if possible, or be prepared to clean the crate and bath a dog.
Can I leave my dog alone for 12 hours?
If your dog is still a puppy then you shouldn’t be leaving it alone for no more than 3-4 hours per day. Leaving any dog alone for 12 hours every day is not advisable at all. No dog can stay alone for that long a time in an apartment. If you have a fenced yard then you may leave the dog in the yard with food and water.
